Cyprus Police, Ministry of Justice and Public Order
NetU has delivered the Cyprus National Schengen Information System (N-SIS) that allows the Cyprus Police to obtain information on persons wanted in addition to stolen or missing property throughout Europe. The project also included the replacement of the Cyprus Police’s network and server infrastructure to provide more secure, highly-available and expandable information services. As part of the same project, NetU developed new applications for the Stoplist, Arrivals and Departures in all entry points of the Cyprus Government, Criminal and Traffic Records, Guns Registry, Personnel, Accidents Statistics, Rented Cars Registry, Vehicles Registry, Police Vehicles Registry, Police Stations Diary.

As a follow-up to the Cyprus N-SIS project NetU was also awarded the implementation of the new generation N-SIS II system.

The Cyprus Police is also making effective use of technology in their Traffic Department, through another turn-key solution provided by NetU. All patrolling Police officers are equipped with handheld, rugged computers and printers that enable them to issue tickets to traffic offenders on the spot, while at the same time providing them with useful information about the vehicle in question. The handhelds synchronize with a backoffice application also designed and developed by NetU that takes care of all the processing that needs to take place after a ticket has been issued, from payment to court cases, while maintaining a very important audit trail in order to guarantee that the system is not susceptible to tampering of data of any sort.  Tightly connected with this system is another NetU developed system that is responsible for managing the penalty points that each driver accumulates as a result of traffic violations.
